With reference to my letter of the 5th June last, I am directed by the Earl of Carnarvon to transmit the inclosed, for the information of the Lords Committee of Privy Council for Trade, Casualty Returns No 2 and 3, which have been received from the Governor of Hongkong, giving the particulars of the loss of the British Ships "Mako" (Official No. 30,842) and "Fairlight" (Official No. 21,170)
